About Us

At Genetics for the People, we believe that your health story is more than a diagnosis- it's a map waiting to be decoded.

Founded by Dr. Katelin Hubbard, PhD in Biomedical Nutrition, and Connor Behr, Biotech Innovator & Synthetic Biology Entrepreneur, Genetics for the People exists to bridge the gap between complex science and real-world healing. We specialize in uncovering the underlying biochemical and genetic factors that shape health, with a focus on folate and methylation pathways, neurotransmitter metabolism, myelin synthesis, and neuro-metabolic function.

Using a combination of genetic interpretation, nutrient-pathway analysis, and personalized strategy, we help individuals find clarity in their health journey. Whether you're navigating chronic symptoms, rare mutations, or just looking for deeper answers, our work empowers you to re-route your biochemistry and change your genetic fate.

This isn't about treating symptoms. It's about understanding your biology so you can work with it, not against it.

Connor Behr

Co-Founder of Genetics for the People | Biotech Innovator & Synthetic Biology Entrepreneur

Connor Behr is a pioneering biotech entrepreneur dedicated to democratizing access to essential medicines through innovative synthetic biology. As the founder of Spero Technologies, he developed a novel, cell-free manufacturing platform capable of producing complex biomolecules without the need for living cells or traditional bioreactors. This groundbreaking approach, which he detailed in a widely viewed TED Talk, aims to make life-saving therapies more accessible and affordable worldwide.

Connor's work gained national attention when, at just 19 years old, he introduced the PhyR Project—a concept for a countertop insulin production system inspired by his sister’s experience with diabetes. Utilizing the slime mold Physarum polycephalum to streamline enzyme production, his method reduces manufacturing complexity and cost, potentially enabling patients to produce insulin at home.

At Genetics for the People, Connor applies his expertise in cell-free systems and metabolic engineering to support personalized health strategies. His commitment to open-source science and ethical innovation aligns with the company's mission to empower individuals through cutting-edge biomedical insights.
